Our Task Mission San Carlos del Rio Carmelo
Most students pick just one Mission for their report, but we are going to focus on websites that have information on all 21 missions. Our job is to locate websites that will be good sources of information for visiting fourth graders. Students could easily find this information at their local library, but many of them do not have access to one. The Internet can be a great source of information, as long as we suggest websites that are the best we can find.
Each of you will be assigned a job:
  • Content Specialist
  • Credibility Specialist
  • Design/usability Specialist
Content Specialist - Responsible for evaluating the website's information.
Is the information clear? Can you understand the language they use? Are there any spelling mistakes or errors.
If you are chosen as a Content Specialist you will use the Content Specialist Questionnaire to evaluate your websites.

Credibility Specialist - Responsible for evaluating who the author of the website is.
Can you tell who wrote the website and how we could contact them if we needed additional information? Do they list their sources?
If you are chosen as a Credibility Specialist you will use the Credibility Specialist Questionnaire to evaluate your websites.

Design/Usability Specialist - Responsible for evaluating the overall design of a website and whether it is easy to use and find information.
Is the font readable and consistent? Are the colors distracting? Are there too many pictures or too little? Is it easy to navigate around the site?
If you are chosen as a Design/Usability Specialist you will use the Design/Usability Specialist Questionnaire to evaluate your websites.
